Things change in TV, kind of like real life, only not really. When things change on TV, sometimes you have to embrace the change and not complain – “But, that’s not Becky!..or is it?”

Maybe naming the character of Jeff’s sister Becky was a sign. After all, the most famous switcheroo of actresses playing the same part had to be Roseanne Barr’s TV daughter, Becky, who was played by Lecy Goranson for eight seasons, who then, um, disappeared, then came back, then suddenly turned into Sarah Chalke for half a season, then turned back into Goranson, then finally gave up and was portrayed by Chalke for the final half season. Audiences just went with it.

Chrisssy Gerik

So we’re asking the same – no soap opera voiceover, just – okay, this is Becky now. Our good friend Cristen Irene played Becky in the pilot episode, but then Hollywood came calling (we’d like to take credit), and we wish her all the best.

We’re thrilled that another fabulous actress and friend, Chrissy Gerik, is now on board to play Becky. She’s thrilled to be part of our cast (which works for us), so give her a big welcome, and just, you know, go with it.
